I do try to stay hopeful.. and the first thing that comes to mind for solving it is ...solar panels because they take sunlight... and turn it into energy - like a leaf! I'd like to see gas-fueled cars gone, like carriages from all the way back... and solar panels on every roof, and any windy spot you'd have windmills and... you'd need to go to the grocery store less if you could grow most of your food. What if you had on top of a house a garden for food? And you could have apple or other kinds of fruit trees in your front yard.

Youth being able to help - I love this idea! Kids given the opportunity to work... so they could learn what they wanted to do, be able to help, not just be blown off to play with some toys or whatever... It would be great to be able to help the community by learning new things by hand... that would be amazing.
